The Opportunity

MacKillop Catholic College is a Catholic Secondary College on Hobart's Eastern Shore with a strong commitment to academic excellence and pastoral care. We are now seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our vibrant and inclusive community for the following leadership position:

House Leader

Commencing 2026

The position of Head of House is responsible to the Director of Pastoral Care for the care, discipline, guidance and participation of students within their House, in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, values and policies of MacKillop Catholic College.

Heads of House deliver quality Pastoral Care to students based on our vision statement of excellence, compassion and service. Heads of House work with staff to ensure that students are known, cared for with continuity and have maximum opportunities to actively and positively participate within the College community.

About You

As a qualified Teacher, registered with the Teachers Registration Board of Tasmanian, you will be able to exhibit a wide range of exemplary teaching practices, which include:

  • Creating and maintaining supportive and safe learning environments.
  • Teaching excellence in the Australian Curriculum and using research based best pedagogical practices.
  • Working collaboratively in a team to plan and implement effective teaching and learning.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with all members of the school community.
  • Passionate and committed to high quality and innovative Catholic education.
  • An understanding of and ability to contribute to the mission and values of MacKillop Catholic College as a Catholic school.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.
