About The Role

This is a great opportunity to grow your career with a global company whilst expanding your technical expertise in industrial water treatment. You will be responsible for providing site servicing to a key ammonia customer in Gladstone, where you will spend a substantial amount of time onsite providing support to the customer who uses Solenis products in their operations.

This is a Monday- Friday, permanent position and would suit someone who is dedicated, reliable and enjoys hands-on technical work as a Service Technician. Over time, you will become an expert in your field, with opportunities to advance into account management or sales if desired.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all chemical stock levels on site, including ordering and removal of empty drums

  • Sample and test cooling and boiler waters

  • Inspect all chemical dosing and monitoring equipment

  • Perform equipment programming and recalibrations as needed

  • Undertake minor repairs and log maintenance requests

  • Perform cooling tower cleaning

  • Collect accurate test data and monitoring results, ensuring to accurately record data in our record tracking system

  • Attend weekly customer meetings with maintenance management

About you

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Experience working in a service-based environment, ideally in processing, mining or manufacturing

  • An interest in chemical processes and their industrial applications

  • A strong practical mechanical aptitude, with the willingness to be hands on

  • Ability to work independently with proven reliability and integrity

  • Good communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Computer literacy using MS Office Suite

  • Hold a current Australian driver's licence

  • Ability to undertake a police background check and obtain a Queensland explosives security clearance

  • A trade certificate or degree in chemistry or science-based topic would be highly regarded
