The Role
We are seeking a motivated Lab Assistant to support our product development and quality control team. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and an interest in the world of flavours and fragrances.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare professional, well-presented samples for customers in prompt manner.
- Assist in blending and evaluating flavours and fragrances.
- Conduct basic laboratory testing including density, refractive index, moisture, flashpoint, and pH.
- Maintain accurate and clear records of laboratory work and test results including preparation of certificates of analysis.
- Keep lab equipment clean, calibrated, and in good working order.
- Maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
- Follow all workplace health, safety, and quality procedures.
About You
- Previous laboratory experience is essential.
- Certificate or diploma in laboratory studies, food science, chemistry, or related field would be an advantage (or equivalent practical experience).
- Strong organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- A high standard of numeracy and literacy skills.
- Ability to work methodically and efficiently, following SOPs and batch sheets.
- Good time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Physically able to handle repetitive tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
