Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD), Community Mental Health - Deniliquin - are looking for a motivated and skilled Youth Mental Health Clinician. In this role you will be responsible for delivering holistic, person-centred and trauma-informed care to young people with complex mental health needs and their families and carers. You will be collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan and deliver comprehensive, mental health care to the regional community of Deniliquin and surrounds.

About the role:
The focus is on young people with complex or high needs who may be difficult to engage in effective treatment and support.
Identified outcomes are:
- Successful therapeutic engagement with young people experiencing or at risk of developing severe mental illness.
- Better experience of care through integrated and coordinated service models.
- Prevention of unnecessary hospitalisations through timely access to appropriate and targeted clinical care
- Active use of a multiagency care plan for young people with, or at risk of, severe and complex mental illness, to help link providers across multiple services involved in a young person's care
- Improved support for families and carers of young people experiencing severe mental illness
Our priority populations include young people who identify and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, young people who identify as LGBTIQ+, young people experiencing social and/or economic disadvantage, young people at risk of withdrawing from education or employment, young people who have experienced trauma, and young people who are at risk of hospitalisation.

About Deniliquin Community Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (CMHAOD)
The Deniliquin CMHAOD team is the third largest of six CMHAOD teams across Murrumbidgee LHD. The CMHAOD team has approximately 10 multidisciplinary clinicians and a range of support staff, who provide MH AOD services, across the life span from a site in the main street of Deniliquin.
We work closely with MyStep and other community organisations to ensure people receive the right care for their needs. At a district level we have access to clinical leaders for MH, AOD and other specialty services such as Aboriginal Mental Health, eating disorders and Perinatal Infant Mental Health.

- Have an in-depth understanding and ability to provide Youth Mental Health services in a curious and empathetic way
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism with ability to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team
- Have sound communication skills, both written and verbal
- Be able to manage and prioritise a diverse workload
- Hold a relevant Australian qualification as a Counsellor, Psychologist, Social Worker or Registered Nurse, or must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field e.g. community welfare, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
