The Opportunity
SEE Group have a great career opportunity available, at their established quarry business DMC, for a Quarry Supervisor to join our highly professional and skilled team. This is a diverse and fast-paced full-time role based in Tenterfield, NSW. Working closely with the Quarry Manager and Operations Team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day safe operation of one of the Groups largest businesses.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example and ensure best practice industry safety and operational work practices.
- Responsible for ensuring completion of production planning and material quality activities according to specifications.
- Expedite and coordinate any delayed or potentially delayed activities to ensure that the Quarry is producing during operational times.
- Manage the coordination of employees, subcontractors, procurement, plant and equipment required for production and continuous storage of quality material in stockpiles.
- Provide advice, support and assistance to quarry staff in relation to any technical and/or complex problems that may arise during quarry operations.
- Monitor crushing and screening to ensure the effective utilisation of all site resources (labour, machinery, materials, subcontractors etc.) with a view to fully utilising all company owned plant and equipment prior to engagement of subcontractors and or plant hire.
- Ensure that all operations are carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, IMS and legislation and standards.
Essential Skills and Attributes
- Highly effective skills in negotiating, evaluating specifications and Australian standards, and driving culture and people.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Knowledge of quarrying principles.
- Computer literacy, particularly experience working with Microsoft Office applications and production recording systems.
- Tertiary qualification – Surface Extraction Operations, Project Management or similar
- Current Drivers Licence
- Current First Aid/CPR certificate
