About the Role
We are seeking a medical receptionist to join our friendly, supportive and dedicated team in Wantirna. We have the option of Full Time, Part Time or Casual depending on the successful candidate.
The successful applicant will have a strong focus in customer service with exceptional interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for providing high quality reception and administrative service to the patients, doctors and staff of the practice in a caring and supportive manner.

Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the first point of contact and greeting patients on arrival
- Appointment scheduling
- Answer the telephone in a courteous and professional manner
- Collect patient information, while maintaining privacy
- Receive and convey messages in writing, verbally and electronically
- Enter data as required with a high level of accuracy
- Bill and receipt patient accounts, Private/Medicare/DVA
- Fax/Scan/File documents
- Maintain a clean and tidy professional environment, including cleaning of the consult rooms and waiting room between sessions
- Liaise with GP's, other health professionals and their staff
Skills and Experience
- Previous reception experience in General Practice highly desired
- Experience in the use of best practice medical software desired
- Flexible working hours
- Exceptional phone manner and communication skills
- Proficiency in computer skills including typing and the use of Microsoft 365
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Knowledge of Medicare MBS item numbers
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to maintain high levels of professionalism and confidentiality
- Work rights in Australia or be eligible for such

Our large, modern establishment is in the heart of Wantirna, situated nearby local supermarkets and bus stops. Doctor owned and operated, we have 9 consulting rooms and 4 treatment areas, a fully computerised system, and we offer a range of Allied Health services alongside General Practice.
We have a calm and respectful attitude within our practice, with trusting relationships between the health care professionals and administration staff. We aim to provide the highest standard of service towards our patients, with positive experiences as a priority.
