The Role
From engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features, technicians are skilled in all aspects of car mechanics and electronics. A technician's responsibilities may include the following:
- Servicing vehicles - maintaining cars by performing checks and maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
- Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components
- Advising the Service Receptionists about required repairs
- Maintaining repair and service records
- Investigating reported issues with the help of specialised tools and diagnostic equipment, as well as seeking guidance from senior employees as needed
- Developing and comprehending the relevant documents for warranty work
- Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician
- All Motor Vehicle Technician Apprentices receive their off-the-job training at the state of the art Manufacturer's Training Centre. This guarantees consistent training across the UK and enables our apprentices to study the most up-to-date products and technology. Over the course of three years, the training is conducted in both workshops and classroom settings.
- With the increasing presence of Hybrid and Electric cars you will receive comprehensive EV training designed to give you the knowledge & skills required to carry out safe and competent work.
- GCSE grades level 4 or above in English, Maths and two other subjects (or equivalent qualifications)
