MAYS GEMS is a boutique jewellery business specialising in jade and natural gemstones. With a beautiful showroom in Ferntree Gully and a growing online store, we're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Sales Assistant / Office Administrator to help support our day-to-day retail and eCommerce operations.

This is a part-time position with the potential to become full-time for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Packing and dispatching online orders with care and accuracy
  • Answering customer enquiries via phone, email, and live chat
  • Assisting customers at our showroom with product selection
  • Crafting jewellery items (training provided)
  • Entering data in spreadsheets and maintaining accurate records
  • Supporting marketing efforts such as email newsletters and promotions
  • General office tasks and admin support as required

What We're Looking For

  • Past experience in customer service or retail (required)
  • Confident using computers and composing professional emails
  • Comfortable using Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and ability to multitask in a small business environment

Even Better If You Have Experience With

  • Shopify or other eCommerce platforms (order processing, product listings)
  • Product photography or basic photo editing
  • Email marketing tools (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar)
  • Online fulfillment systems like Australia Post MyPost or DHL Express
  • Jewellery making skills, gemstone knowledge, or an interest in jewellery

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.80 – $30.00 per hour
