Early Childhood Educator

Full-time fixed term contracts until December 2026

About the role

We are currently seeking skilled
Early Childhood Educators (Diploma) to work at
our Rowan View Children's Centre, within our Safe Haven program in 2026.

This will be a full time position
for the 2026 working year, working Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.06pm with a half
hour break.

You would be working in a
research project which provides an intensive early education and care model for
children who have been affected by trauma to redress the impacts and help them
to have increased educational outcomes at the end of the project.

The advantages of this position

• 5 hours of contact per day
  with the same group of children at a ratio of 1 educator to 3 children under 3
  and 1 educator to 6 children over 3 and small group sizes.

  multidisciplinary leadership team including an Infant Mental Health
  practitioner, Social Worker, Full time pedagogical leader and Centre
  coordinator
• professional development in
  trauma and attachment theory and associated areas from Parkville Institute
• fortnightly reflective
  supervision
• planning time each day
• fortnightly room meetings and
  consults with the Infant mental health practitioner and pedagogical leader
• Return to substantive role at
  the end of the secondment with new and varied skills

About you

You will demonstrate a genuine interest in meeting the
needs of children and their families through the provision of quality education and care which reflects an awareness of the wellbeing of each
child. You
must role model best practice to your co-educators and build respectful
relationships with families.

To be successful in this role you must hold a Diploma level
qualification in Education and Care.

Key Selection Criteria

• A minimum diploma level qualification as outlined in the
  Children's Services Regulations 2012.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering a high-quality learning
  environment that is inclusive and meets the needs of all children.
• Experience working collaboratively with families, carers, and
  children in the delivery of high-quality education and care (experience working
  with children living with significant social disadvantage, family stress and
  risk factors ideal)
• Demonstrated understanding of the National Quality Framework,
  including National Law and Regulations, National Quality Standards and
  Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to
  engage and work with a diverse range of stakeholders including parents,
  colleagues and local community members
• Knowledge
  and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and
  work area.
