In this role, you'll:
• Oversee depot warehouse operations and inventory systems to ensure accurate tracking, efficient material usage, and alignment with Sydney Trains and NSW Public Sector requirements.
• Manage depot facilities and local service contracts, ensuring value for money, compliance, and effective delivery of specialist services across the territory.
• Ensure full compliance with Sydney Trains Safety Management System, promoting a safety-first culture and adherence to safe working practices.
• Coordinate and monitor competency assessments, staff development, and capability delivery solutions to maintain high performance and support succession planning.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to enable effective cross-discipline planning of material resources and logistics aligned with maintenance objectives.
• Lead, coach, and mentor logistics and stores staff, ensuring competence, confidence, and accountability through regular performance reviews and development planning.
• Act as SME for internal logistics and oversee external logistics (including labour hire), ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.
• Initiate and review inventory and procurement practices, contribute to Sydney Trains Management Systems (e.g., VMCs), and maintain accurate data and reporting standards.
• Promote ongoing awareness and education of Rail Technology Materials to ensure staff remain informed and capable in handling specialised inventory.

About you
• Extensive experience in logistics, inventory, and facilities management, with a strong background in procurement, supply chain, and warehouse operations within a maintenance-focused environment.
• Proficiency in SAP and Excel, with sound knowledge of plant, material, and labour procurement systems, and demonstrated experience managing small contracts and service agreements.
• Valid NSW Class C driver licence and experience operating 4WD/UTE-style vehicles; Forklift Licence or willingness to obtain one is essential, with HR licence preferred.
• Expertise in supply chain and asset management principles, with practical application in inventory control, facilities oversight, and maintenance management systems.
• Strong commercial acumen, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• This is an onsite role based out of the Clyde Network Maintenance Operations, requiring hands-on involvement in logistics, inventory, and facilities activities.
