About the Role
As a member of the Library and Information Services Team, the Teacher Librarian will support classroom teachers through contemporary teaching practices that complement the curriculum delivery for the benefit of students as part of the Information Services Team.
This role requires a strong commitment to continually develop expertise in digital pedagogy related to the library environment and develop and share this expertise through co-planning and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Plan and deliver engaging library lessons for students in Years 5 – 12, aligned with curriculum outcomes and literacy development goals.
- Collaborate with Learning Area Leaders and classroom teachers to develop dynamic, inquiry-based teaching and learning opportunities aligned with the College Learning Framework.
- Apply deep knowledge of contemporary educational library and information services to problems, planning, negotiating, and prioritising, to deliver results for the College's library and information services
- Identify and plan opportunities to create, deliver, and evaluate resources and activities to contribute to culture of reading for learning and recreation.
- Apply strategies to engage young men in learning through the utilisation of innovative technologies, including generative AI tools, to personalise content, foster creativity, and enhance learning outcomes.

To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
- Possession of, or active progress toward, a qualification recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
- Current Queensland Teacher Registration.
- Accreditation to teach in a Catholic School
- A sound knowledge of Oliver or other similar Library software systems.
