Heavymech Pty Ltdis a specialist fabrication and general engineering business established in 1968 with workshops in South Australia and Mount Isa. Our Whyalla-based workshop is looking for a Boilermaker/Welder to work alongside a tight-knit team, supporting local industry with quality fabrication and welding.

Responsibilities include:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings/specs; choose the right welding method.
  • Set up, align and weld components (manual/semi-automatic) in various positions and techniques.
  • Prepare, cut, shape and finish materials to spec; test/inspect welds and assemble components.
  • Assist in the supervision and mentoring of junior welders/fabricators.
  • Maintain welding equipment and uphold housekeeping and WHS standards

About You

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication or 5+ years' proven welding experience (mandatory).
  • Ability to work from drawings, problem-solve and operate safely with minimal supervision.
  • Positive attitude with strong teamwork and communication.
  • AS1796 welding certifications (Highly regarded)
  • Forklift Licence (Preferred)

Successful candidates will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
