The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced
SMP Checker
to join our growing team in our modern Brisbane office. Reporting directly to the Drawing Office Manager, the successful applicant would be tasked with checking SMP design drawings to ensure that they achieve design outcomes for each project.
Our current workload includes projects from traditional metals such as gold and base metals to the more complex battery mineral projects e.g. Lithium, graphite etc. and includes locations around the world.
Your Typical Day Will Consist Of
- Checking drawings for compliance with client expectations, standards, specifications and procedures
- Checking drawings for constructability, fabrication and availability of materials and vendor information
- Manage workloads to ensure tasks are met. Liaising with project team personnel where required, to produce accurate design documentation
- Liaising with relevant disciplines to ensure design coordination of multi-disciplined projects
- Maintaining high levels of accuracy and quality in the design documentation
Skills/Qualifications
- Relevant industry qualifications – certificate or diploma in Structural, Mechanical and Piping Design
- Minimum 15 years' design experience and checking in a Process Plant Design environment
- Previous Mining & Metals industry exposure
- Extensive use of 3D CAD systems
- Extensive knowledge of current design and detail drafting standards
- Full and unrestricted Australian working rights and based in Brisbane
