Key Responsibilities:- Lesson Planning and Delivery:
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) curriculum guidelines.
- Deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Incorporate technology, interactive activities, and innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience.
- Student Assessment and Reporting:
- Assess and evaluate student progress through tests, assignments, projects, and classroom participation.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents, focusing on areas for improvement and development.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, including attendance, grades, and behavioral notes.
- Classroom Management:
- Establish and enforce clear rules and routines to promote a safe and positive learning environment.
- Manage student behavior effectively, using strategies to minimize disruptions and encourage positive behavior.
- Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that promotes cooperation and mutual respect among students.
- Individualized Learning Support:
- Identify students with additional learning needs and provide appropriate support and differentiation in lesson delivery.
- Collaborate with special education staff, parents, and other professionals to support students with disabilities or learning difficulties.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, where required.
- Professional Development:
- Stay up to date with the latest teaching methods, educational technologies, and curriculum updates by attending professional development workshops and training.
- Participate in regular teacher collaboration meetings, contributing to the development of school-wide programs and policies.
- Reflect on teaching practices and strive for continuous improvement.
- Communication with Parents and Guardians:
- Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians to discuss student progress, behavior, and academic performance.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, conferences, and school events to foster strong school-home relationships.
- Contribution to School Community:
- Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and committees to contribute to the broader school community.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan cross-curricular projects, school-wide initiatives, or student engagement programs.
- Support the schools mission, values, and policies in interactions with students, staff, and the community.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Classroom Management: Ability to manage classroom dynamics, ensuring a positive learning environment and addressing behavioral issues effectively.
- Adaptability: Flexibility in adjusting teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to plan, prepare, and deliver lessons while managing time effectively.
- Passion for Education: Commitment to fostering student growth and a love of learning.
- Teamwork: Willingness to collaborate with other teachers, staff, and the school community to improve student outcomes.
- Education:
- A Bachelor of Education (BEd) or a relevant degree plus a Graduate Diploma in Education.
- Accreditation with the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) is mandatory.
- Experience:
- Experience teaching in a primary or secondary school setting (as applicable).
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, but experience with classroom teaching is preferred.
- Certifications:
- A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for New South Wales is required.
- First Aid and CPR certification (optional but beneficial).
- Physical Requirements: This role involves standing for extended periods, supervising students in various settings, and engaging in school activities.
- Hours: Typically, full-time or part-time hours aligned with school hours and terms. Occasional after-hours work may be required for meetings, planning, or school events.
