We're a venue like no other, sitting in the heart of Toowoomba. The Rock offers a contemporary pub experience with an unrivalled food and beverage menu. Whether you're swinging by for a quick drink, settling in for a long lunch, or catching the game with mates, there's always a spot for you here.

Since 1911, this has been the place for good times (back when we were known as The Gladstone Hotel—aka The Happy Rock). Fast forward to now, and we're still that same community favourite—just with a new look and an even better menu. Big screens, delicious meals and snacks, cocktails that hit just right, and a team that loves what they do.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Rock are after a stand-out Duty Manager who is a strong leader with experience in high-volume, face-paced environments. This role will suit a passionate hospitality professional who understands what being hands-on means.

Reporting directly to the Venue Manager, you will be leading from the front and setting high standards, ensuring the smooth operation of the venue. Above all, you'll be responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience and inspiring the team to do the same.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

To really succeed in this role we are looking for experienced hospitality person that has:

  • Experience managing a large and diverse team

  • Experience working in a high-volume environment

  • Exceptional product knowledge and ability to drive consistency and excellence

  • Business and operational acumen

  • Skills to develop staff around product knowledge, service skills, team culture and guest relationships

  • RSA and RSG certifications (essential)

  • RMLV and Approved Manager credentials (preferred, but not essential)

  • A true hospitality worker who is available on weekends and for late-night shifts

  • A love for exceptional customer service
