Senior Farm Hand/Operator

Wilga Farming (Australia) is currently seeking a motivated and capable Senior Farm Hand/Operator to join our team at The Nortongong Aggregation, a large-scale farming operation located in the Central West region of New South Wales.

This hands-on role is integral to the daily operations of the farm and involves a wide range of activities including cropping, machinery operation, fencing, maintenance and harvesting. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in broadacre farming, strong mechanical aptitude, and a proactive, safety-first attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake seeding, spraying, and harvesting operations
• Operate and maintain various types of large scale agricultural machinery
• Perform general farm maintenance, including machinery, fencing and infrastructure repairs
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to a safe and efficient working environment

Skills and Experience:

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

• Experience in cropping, preferably within a large-scale or corporate enterprises
• Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of agricultural machinery
• A current Driver's Licence (essential)
• Mechanical aptitude; welding and fabrication skills will be highly regarded
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks

• Advantageous qualifications/experience include:

• Heavy Vehicle (HR) Truck Licence

• ChemCert accreditation
• First Aid certificate
• Confined Space and/or Working at Heights certifications
• Experience using AgWorld

About the Property:

The Nortongong Aggregation is a substantial 15,782-hectare mixed farming enterprise located in central western New South Wales. Managed as a single aggregation across two distinct operational units—North Nortongong and South Nortongong—it has a strong production focus on winter cropping

The landholding includes:

• 11,838 ha of dryland cropping country
• 193 ha of irrigated cropping land
• 2,818 ha of grazing land, including a 936 ha environmental planning project
• 933 ha of conservation and support land
