Primary Responsibilities-
Design cathodic protection systems (galvanic/sacrificial anode and impressed current systems).

Select appropriate materials, anodes, rectifiers, and other components.
-
Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
-
Conduct baseline and routine surveys (e.g., close interval potential surveys, current requirement tests).
-
Perform soil resistivity testing and structure-to-electrolyte potential measurements.
-
Diagnose and troubleshoot existing CP systems.
-
Oversee or assist with the installation of CP systems on pipelines, tanks, marine structures, and reinforced concrete.
-
Commission systems and verify performance against design criteria.
-
Monitor CP system performance through periodic testing and data logging.
-
Analyse data to ensure protection levels are within acceptable limits.
-
Recommend and implement corrective actions when systems underperform.
-
Ensure systems comply with relevant standards (e.g., AS 2832, ISO 15589, NACE SP0169).
-
Prepare detailed technical reports, inspection records, and compliance documentation.
-
Prepare scope of works documents to rectify defects found during inspections.
-
Supervise and provide QA/QC during repairs of defects.
-
Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
-
Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
-
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers.
-
Provide technical support during audits or client reviews.
Qualifications (Preferred)
-
Bachelor's degree in electrical Engineer or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
-
AMPP Cathodic Protection (level 1-4).
-
Chartered Engineering status with Engineers Australia or recognised body.
-
Familiarity with project design and execution, including site stakeholder engagement and shutdown integration.

Experience coaching and educating project teams.
-
CP design, installation, and maintenance of sacrificial anode and impressed current CP systems.
-
Skilled in field surveys (e.g., CIPS, DCVG), testing, and troubleshooting.
-
Familiar with industry standards (e.g., NACE/AMPP, ISO, AS/NZS).

Experience managing CP projects from design through commissioning.
-
Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
-
Competent in system monitoring, performance analysis, and reporting.
-
Capable of developing maintenance schedules and improvement plans.
-
Effective communicator with strong technical writing and reporting skills
-
Thorough understanding of how to develop repair methods scopes, budget estimates and schedules using MS project.

Interest in corrosion mechanisms.
-
Proven success working with all levels of management.

Advanced user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).

Ability to pass a medical examination and clear security checks (National Police Clearance).
-
Adhering to the ISO 9001 quality control system companywide (including participating in company audits.

Establish plans to achieve measurable objectives.
-
Provide the necessary resources, including personnel, infrastructure, and financial resources, to achieve HSEQ objectives.

Control non-conforming outputs and take corrective actions when necessary.
-
Identify and plan for risks and opportunities related to HSEQ.
