Craigieburn, Victoria, Australia Oscar Romero Catholic Primary School Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Role Description/Criteria

Oscar Romero Catholic Primary School is seeking an exceptional, faith-filled leader to join our community as Deputy Principal / Learning and Teaching Leader.

Located in the heart of Craigieburn West, our school is a vibrant, culturally rich and rapidly growing community of more than 660 students and 80 staff. Established in 2018, we proudly serve families within the Parish of Our Lady's, Craigieburn and Roxburgh Park. Our school motto, inspired by St Oscar Romero, "Aspire not to have more, but to be more" guides our identity, culture and aspirations.

We are a school marked by strong enrolment demand, a richly diverse student population and a dedicated staff committed to high-impact, evidence-informed teaching. Our approach to learning is forward-looking and shaped by the MACS Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement. Our Catholic identity is lived through prayer, liturgy, social justice and the full sacramental life of the Church. As we continue to grow, major developments, including a new multipurpose facility and the 2026 opening of the Oscar Romero Children's Hub (MACSEYE) will further strengthen our capacity to serve our community.

Guided by the MACS2030 Strategy: Forming Lives to Enrich the World, we are committed to ensuring every child is known, valued and supported to flourish academically, spiritually and socially. Our vision calls us to be "a faith-filled learning community, committed to the teachings of Jesus, where at the heart of learning is hope and a desire for each learner to fully flourish."

We are seeking a Deputy Principal who will lead with faith, integrity and educational excellence, guiding the next phase of our school's growth and strengthening our whole-school instructional model.

As Deputy Principal / Learning and Teaching Leader, the successful applicant will work alongside the Principal to build a thriving, faith-filled and future-focused school community. The role carries significant responsibility for leading high-quality learning and teaching, including curriculum oversight, assessment, instructional practice and the enactment of the Annual Action Plan.

While this position is advertised as a Deputy Principal / Learning and Teaching role, applicants with strong Deputy Principal leadership capability are encouraged to apply. The Learning and Teaching component of the role is negotiable for the preferred candidate.

The position will be offered as a two-year fixed-term Deputy Principal appointment, with an ongoing teaching position attached. The position description is attached.
