Gosford, New South Wales, Australia Envirobank Recycling Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

About the Company: We dream about cleaning up our country. And we think the best way to do this is by changing the way Australia recycles. We know that recycling pays, and both people and the planet profit when we recycle.

Along with being Australia's most innovative recycling company, we're also in the business of doing good. And lots of it. That's why we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Team Leader to join our team in NSW.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Team Leader to join our team in a full-time position in NSW, overseeing our 3 NSW locations, Milperra, West Gosford and Kempsey

Ideally located either on the Central Coast or in Sydney, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our recycling depots, managing a team of dedicated leaders to ensure smooth and efficient functioning. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining a safe, productive, and goal-oriented environment, aligning with our company's overall objectives. Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and driving operational excellence.

If you consider yourself a self-starter, someone who cares about the environment and can inspire and lead a high-performing team, we encourage you to apply

The Role:

This role values practical life experiences just as much as formal qualifications. Your diverse background could be an asset in:

  • Supporting and mentoring Team Leaders, addressing escalated issues and facilitating their development.
  • Maintaining and enhancing processes and checklists for Team Leaders, ensuring effective leadership.
  • Providing training to Team Leaders on leading depot staff and systems/processes.
  • Conducting regular visits to depots within the region.
  • Identify efficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and profitability.
  • Ensuring budgets are met by achieving revenue targets and managing operating costs.
  • Reviewing rosters and productivity reports to optimise resource allocation and minimise costs.
  • Upholding high standards of customer service and addressing complaints effectively.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to procure necessary equipment and maintain orderly workflow.
  • Oversee depot maintenance and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Reporting to National Operations Manager on WHS compliance and incidents.
  • Analysing statistics and compiling reports for management review.
  • Ensuring all depots are maintained in a tidy, hygienic, and orderly manner.
  • Being responsible for system logins for new and ceased staff.
  • Undertaking ad hoc projects as directed by management.

About you:

We value practical skills and real-life experiences, so if you bring the following qualities to the table, you could be a perfect fit:

  • Previous experience in a similar leadership role within the waste management or related industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of WHS policies and procedures.
  • Ability to analyse data and compile reports.
  • Proven track record of meeting targets and managing budgets.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Relevant qualifications in operations management or a related field.

Desirable Qualifications:

While formal qualifications are not a strict requirement, any senior leadership experience and/or relevant safety certifications would be advantageous.

You will be helping us to educate and reward the communities who recycle with us

As a recognised Diversity Champion, Envirobank is committed to Equal Employment Opportunities, Ethical Practices, and the principles of cultural diversity. We encourage applications from all members of the community, including people from Indigenous backgrounds, people with disabilities, women seeking non-traditional trade opportunities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and mature-aged people. If you require assistance lodging your application, please contact the human resources team at

Application Process:

If you are passionate about environmental sustainability and possess the required skills and experience, we would love to hear from you. Please submit a cover letter with your application, highlighting how your real-life experiences make you the perfect fit for this role.
