Carpenter

POSITION PURPOSE

To install timber structures, both temporary and permanent to aid with the delivery of contracts undertaken by the company.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Roof Structure Installation: Frame, install, and repair roof structures, including trusses, beams, battens, rafters, and roof framing components.
• Roof Maintenance & Repair: Perform repair and maintenance of existing roofs, including replacing damaged sections and reinforcing roof systems.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately interpret and follow construction plans, including specifications for roofing structures and systems.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations when working at heights or with power tools to maintain a safe working environment.
• Framework & Structural Carpentry: Construct and install timber and steel framing, including walls, floors, and ceilings in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
• Fit-Out Work: Install windows, doors, architraves, skirting boards, and other internal carpentry features.
• Flooring & Decking: Install timber or composite decking, flooring, and other external carpentry elements.
• Timber & Metal Work: Use both hand tools and power tools to shape and install timber and metal components to meet project specifications.
• Joinery: Perform basic joinery tasks as required, including installation of custom-built elements.
• Site Preparation & Cleanup: Assist with site setup, tool maintenance, and clearing of work areas at the end of the day.
• Carry out measurements and calculations;
• Maintenance and use of power tools;
• Attendance and participation of daily pre-starts and tool box talks;
• Daily reporting to immediate supervisor and advise them of any potential or encountered hazards;
• Ensure safe work practices including the development and implementation of safe work method statements, risk assessments, injury and incident reporting and other WHS requirements for own area of work;
• Maintain duty of care for other users and work to occupational health and safety requirements;
• Any other reasonable duties as directed by supervisor/project manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00 – $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:

• Carpentry: 2 years (Preferred)
