The opportunity
Queenscliff Bowling, Tennis and Croquet Club is seeking an experienced Sub-Contractor Greenkeeper to join our team on a contract basis. Passionate about turf care and looking for a flexible, rewarding roll in a community focused environment. As the Sub-Contractor Greenkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the pristine condition of our bowling greens, croquet lawns and surrounding grounds ensuring our members and guests enjoy the best possible experience.
Key responsibilities
- Routine mowing, rolling and grooming of greens to maintain optimal playing conditions.
- Irrigation management and water scheduling.
- Monitoring turf health and implementing preventive care. Applying fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments as needed to maintain the health and appearance of the turf.
- Maintenance of the surrounding grounds with assistance from current team.
- Coordinating with the club management to ensure the grounds are prepared for scheduled events and tournaments.
- Providing expert advice and recommendations to the club on grounds maintenance and improvement.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in turf management for bowling and croquet greens
- Strong knowledge of turf management and seasonal maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and well-organized work environment.
