About The Role
We're looking for a
Software Tester
to join a key delivery squad working on life insurance enhancements for a leading financial services organisation. This role will suit someone who is confident with API testing, comfortable working alongside senior engineers, and able to operate effectively in a structured, fast-moving environment.

You'll be joining a project with a solution already in place no framework setup required. Your focus will be on ensuring quality through functional testing, API validation, and supporting a strong delivery cadence.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans for RESTful and SOAP APIs, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.
• Develop automated API test scripts using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI, or similar frameworks.
• Validate API functionality, reliability, performance, and security, including edge cases and error handling.
• Create and maintain test data and mock services to support various testing scenarios.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA team to understand requirements and ensure API quality from early stages.
• Perform regression, integration, and system testing across multiple environments and services.
• Leverage CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated API tests into the development workflow.
• Log, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA, ensuring timely resolution and retesting.
• Conduct API documentation reviews to ensure accuracy and usability for consumers and stakeholders.

Essential Requirements (tech & Soft Skills)

• Proven experience as a Software Tester or QA Engineer (ideally 6+ years)
• Strong experience with API testing using Postman
• Solid understanding of functional testing principles in backend or service-oriented environments
• Ability to work with existing automation frameworks no need to build or maintain, but confident in using them for regression and integration testing
• Experience working with Agile teams and coordinating across technical and business teams
• Experience in financial services, especially insurance or life products
• Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or TestRail
• A working knowledge of Kafka or event-driven systems (helpful, not essential)
