Location: - Sydney (Hybrid – 3 days per week in Paramatta Office)
We are looking for an experienced
Senior Operations Manager (Workplace Management)
for one of the government organisations in Sydney.
Required Skills
- Experience in
managing the daily operations of the organization (all of the branches/central offices in Sydney), with strong leadership qualities - Strong in Managing operations, Workplace management, Team/People Management and Stakeholders engagement.
- Must be able to
provide workplace support services for frontline consolidated offices in various locations in Sydney - Extensive knowledge and experience in
facility and/or asset management
and
strong customer relationship management skills - Proven skills in the
management of services/supplies to support the offices
, the management of
the systems/processes to support the workplace operations
,
emergency management and compliance of the organisation's central offices
, the delivery of defined scope of support/services for workplace transformation project delivery, management/reporting of workplace performance and continuous improvement initiatives, the resolution of escalated issues etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and direct a team / contracted service providers in the operational management of Workplace Hub and Centralized Workplace Support facilities delivered within agreed service level agreements and to ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, sustainability and accessibility policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including other government departments, senior leaders, contractors, and service providers. Ensure clear communication and alignment across all stakeholders regarding workplace needs, issues management, changes, and improvements.
- Coordinate and oversee workplace processes, systems, and portfolio performance reporting, offering innovative system solutions, to facilitate the optimization of office spaces, ensuring effective use of resources, adherence to space planning principles, and alignment with employee usage patterns and emerging trends in the hybrid work model.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the budget, ensuring resources are used efficiently, and costs are controlled
- Successfully oversee the budget, reporting, contracts, procurement and associated financial responsibilities for the Workplace Hubs portfolio.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, leading from the front in new ways to engage our staff in our workplaces.
- Manage stakeholders across the organization, providing a range of services and diverse engagement opportunities to meet the needs of all customers
. - Ensure that all Workplace Hubs comply with relevant NSW government regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental policies. Identify and mitigate potential risks related to workplace management, including health, safety, and security risks.

Australian working rights can apply for this role.
Special Conditions
- Driver's licence would be advantageous to travel around Sydney Metro workplace hubs, but not essential, most are accessible via train.
