Flinders Rural and Remote Health SA
Flinders University Rural and Remote Health SA (FRRHSA) facilitates high quality multidisciplinary health education and research in our State's regional areas.
We have a strong national and international reputation for providing community-engaged inter-professional training for medical, nursing, and allied health students. This includes the Doctor of Medicine Rural Stream (MDRS) program, SA Rural Medical Program and multidisciplinary rural clinical placements.
Through this practice, we bring new and exciting opportunities to actively engage and work with rural communities.
About the Role
Based in Renmark, the Outreach and Engagement Officer plays a key role in building strong connections with local communities, schools, and stakeholder groups. Under the guidance of the supervisor, this position will actively foster relationships with primary and secondary schools, community organisations, and external partners. The role involves representing the organisation at school expos, community events, and campus open days, often in collaboration with internal teams. A key focus of the position is engaging with individuals, families, and communities in a culturally respectful, inclusive, and equitable manner.
About You
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
Awareness of the factors affecting the health and education outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Strong organisational skills with proven ability to manage competing priorities, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines effectively.
Established professional networks across rural SA, including strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders.
Written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with staff and students in a culturally responsive and inclusive manner.
Confidence using digital systems, with practical experience across Microsoft Office programs and related software tools.
