Full-Time | Based in Canning Vale with Regular Regional Travel
Join Allied Pumps group, one of WA's most trusted names in water, pumping, and infrastructure solutions.
For over 30 years we've delivered safe, reliable, and innovative systems across mining, industrial, and community projects throughout Australia—and we're just getting started.
We're looking for a hands-on Tank Inspector & ROV Operator who enjoys variety, travel, and working as part of a skilled team delivering essential water quality outcomes to customers and remote communities across Western Australia.
The Role
You'll be part of a small, capable field crew responsible for inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining large water storage tanks and associated assets onsite. This is a practical, field-based role ideal for someone who thrives on physical work, meticulous inspection, problem-solving, and leaving sites safer and cleaner than you found them.
Key Responsibilities
- Internal Tank Inspections: Operate ROVs/underwater crawlers and camera systems for internal visual inspections; capture high-quality stills/video and annotate defects.
- ROV Tank Cleaning: Perform sediment removal, wall/floor cleaning, and debris extraction using approved methods (including no-drain where applicable).
- Water Quality & Disinfection: Assist with chlorination/disinfection, basic onsite water quality checks (e.g., turbidity, chlorine, pH), and post-clean flushing.
- Reporting & Compliance: Produce concise inspection/cleaning reports with photos, defect tagging and prioritisation; record asset data (serials, plate details), and complete JSEA/SWMS, confined-space paperwork, permits, and daily reports.
- Remedial Works (minor): Seal small leaks, replace gaskets/fasteners, fit strainers or screens, and support pipework fit-off as required.
- Customer & Stakeholder Interface: Represent Allied Pumps professionally onsite; explain findings and recommended actions clearly.
- Safety Leadership: Work safely under supervision or autonomously in remote locations; uphold confined-space, working-at-heights, and hygiene protocols at all times.
What You'll Bring
- Experience in tank inspection/cleaning, water industry, construction, or field service is advantageous (training provided).
- Mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and a can-do attitude—this is a hands-on, quality-driven role.
- Comfortable with confined spaces, ROV operation (training provided), and physical work.
- Willing and able to travel regionally for 1–2 weeks at a time (rosters vary with project demand).
- Basic computer skills for report writing, photo management, and checklists.
Tickets/Licences
- White Card (essential)
- Confined Space (enter & standby)
- Working at Heights
- EWP (Elevated Work Platform)
- Driver's Licence (MR/HR highly regarded)
- First Aid/CPR (advantageous)
- ROV/underwater inspection experience a bonus—training available
Why Join Allied Pumps group
- Be part of a WA-owned company leading the way in water infrastructure and water quality outcomes.
- Work on diverse projects that make a tangible difference in regional communities.
- Training & development pathways: ROV operation, inspection standards, report writing, water quality and safety leadership.
- Competitive pay, penalties/overtime, and daily travel/remote allowances.
- Well-maintained tools & equipment and supportive operations team.
- Long-term career stability within a growing Allied Group
Role Conditions (at a glance)
- Base: Canning Vale (metro and regional deployments).
- Hours: Full-time; early starts common; overtime as required.
- Travel: Regular intrastate travel; accommodation and allowances provided per policy.
- Gear: PPE provided; specialist ROV/cleaning equipment supplied and maintained by Allied.
- Vehicle: Company vehicle or pool vehicle for field work (role-dependent).
