BDS MECHANICAL - GOLD COAST - WORKSHOP MANAGER

BDS Mechanical Repairs is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to lead our established team on the Gold Coast in Arundel. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a hands-on leadership role within a large, privately owned and operated business. You'll be responsible for overseeing daily operations and driving team performance to ensure continued success.

Key responsibilities include overseeing workshop operations, coordinating parts and resources, managing contracts, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. Your leadership will be essential in motivating the team, meeting financial goals, and delivering outstanding customer service. Success in this role relies on your ability to cultivate a culture of accountability, teamwork, and long-term sustainability.

About you:

  • Management experience essential
  • Trade qualified Diesel fitter/Diesel mechanic/LV Mechanic preferred but not essential
  • Experience with automotive workshops a bonus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good people management skills
  • Proven record for leading a successful team
  • Ability to manage all aspects of the business effectively
  • Ability to lead continuous improvement and WH&S
  • Proficient in the computer skills
  • Ability to drive business growth, cultivate new opportunities
  • Maintain positive customer relationships

The Position:

  • Day-to-day running of a mechanical business

Job Planning & Execution

  • Job planning including customer liaison
  • Assist in opening and closing job cards
  • Job tracking & reporting
  • Estimating and quoting

Client Relations

  • Ability to deal with internal and external clients

Team Leadership & Performance

  • Management of staff performance
  • Workshop safety management
  • Quality control and management
  • Willing to be hands-on and not afraid to be on the tools
