Due to strong growth and increasing demand, we're seeking a qualified and experienced Security System & Video Technician to join our team based in Torrensville, SA
About the Role
You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a range of electronic security systems including alarms, CCTV, IP cameras, and access control systems.
You'll work closely with our licensed electricians, engineers, and clients to ensure high-quality, compliant installations that meet AG Security Group's professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend all scheduled appointments at client sites to conduct installations of security products and services, primarily alarm, CCTV, IP Camera, access control systems
Conduct all required pre-wiring and mounting of devices, programming, commissioning and testing, as well as system interfacing
Adhere to all Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, regulations, codes of practice, standards, company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs)
Apply all new AG Security Group safety stickers and signs at all new installations/client sites
Adjusting, repairing, and replacing worn or defective parts and wiring, and maintaining machines, equipment and instruments
Commission and test systems to diagnose faults
Applying knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic principles in commissioning and maintaining control systems
Run, connect, and terminate low-voltage cabling (CAT5/6, coaxial, and fibre optic).
Set up and program DVR/NVR systems, IP cameras, and alarm panels.
Perform routine inspections, servicing, and maintenance of electronic security systems.
Diagnose and repair faults, including connectivity or hardware issues.
Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications to carry out installations.
Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety protocols, and client requirements.
Provide training and support to end-users on system operations.
Maintain accurate records and complete job reports, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation.
Replace and repair defective parts, cabling, and equipment components.
Monitor and interpret communication systems (e.g., radio or coded signals).
Apply knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electronic, and pneumatic systems during installation and troubleshooting.
About You
You are a hands-on technician with strong technical aptitude and a passion for delivering reliable, high-quality work. You take pride in your attention to detail and can confidently collaborate with clients and team members.
Requirements:
Certificate IV (or higher) in Electronics or Electrical Systems (or equivalent).
Minimum 1 year full-time post-qualification experience.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to interpret technical documentation.
Punctual, reliable, and safety-focused.
Must have the right to work in Australia.
Registration/licensing not required (you'll work under supervision of a licensed electrician).
