Diving Instructor

Offering unique experiences in amazing places, Explore Group operates a variety of marine-based activities across Hamilton Island and Airlie Beach in Australia, and Auckland and the Bay of Islands in New Zealand.

We are seeking an experienced Diving Instructor (open water) to lead, coordinate, and supervise all snorkeling and diving activities for our 5 Star PADI operation based at 227 Front Street, Hamilton Island, QLD 4803. This is a hands-on role where safety, customer experience, and team management are top priorities.

About the Role

You'll oversee daily dive and snorkel operations across our fleet of three modern 24m vessels, operating from Hamilton Island and Airlie Beach to the Great Barrier Reef and Whitsunday Islands in Queensland Australia. The role involves guiding and mentoring your team, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and delivering exceptional guest experiences both in and out of the water.

About You

You are confident with a passion for diving, guest engagement, and marine education. You have strong organisational skills, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

•      Current PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (or higher rating)

•      Current dive medical

•      Senior First Aid certification (valid)

•      Oxygen Resuscitation and AED certification (valid)

•      Coxswain 3 or higher

•     Experience delivering reef education (desirable)
