About the role

Harlen's Heavy Diesel Services is looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. This is a casual role where you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a range of heavy diesel vehicles and equipment.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform preventative maintenance on heavy diesel engines, transmissions, and other components
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues on heavy diesel vehicles
  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve problems
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner

What we're looking for

  • Formal qualifications in heavy diesel mechanics or automotive trades
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a fully qualified heavy diesel mechanic
  • Strong knowledge of heavy diesel engines, transmissions, and related components
  • Experience with major equipment brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, or Hitachi preferred
  • Proficient in using diagnostic equipment and tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
Flexibility with hours. Night shift 4 days a week available or regular dayshift 5 day's per week.
  • Australian recognised trade qualification/certificate as Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)
  • Valid Australian driver's licence (manual transmission preferred)
  • Must have unrestricted right to work in Australia
