The Teaching and Learning Support (TLS) directorate enables schools, teachers and the system to support all learners to effectively and equitably access and engage with the curriculum to reach their potential. TLS develops and delivers evidence-based professional learning, resources and advice to schools to enable the provision of an outstanding education for every learner.

About the role

The Manager, Selective Education Placement, manages a team in the development and implementation of processes and practices to enable effective placement of high potential and gifted students into selective high schools and opportunity classes across NSW, while providing high level policy and strategic advice to divisional and business unit management to meet operational objectives.

Key knowledge and experience:

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements:

  • Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment (or willing to acquire one)
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
