Are you passionate about preventative oral health and dedicated to providing exceptional care? HCF is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our Dental Centre Network. Help us fulfil our mission to give Australians access to affordable, high-quality dental care.

As a Dental Hygienist with HCF, you'll play a vital part in delivering preventative dentistry to our members, ensuring top-notch patient care within agreed targets and quality KPIs. You will conduct all aspects of preventative dentistry, maintain clinical excellence, and support the broader goals of our dental centres.

Your practice will be within approved clinical guidelines, in a structured professional relationship with dentists. You'll be entrusted with autonomous decision-making in areas where you've been formally educated and trained, while supported by a collaborative and mentoring environment.

Please note this position will require you to work between our CBD and Bondi Dental Centers. This is a Part time permanent position for 4 days as week (32 Hours)

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality preventative dentistry, focusing on dental prophylaxis and oral hygiene education.
  • Accurately record all patient data and relevant clinical information.
  • Maintain a productive and efficient workflow, meeting individual and network KPIs.
  • Adhere to all DCN policies and procedures.
  • Protect HCF's reputation by avoiding over-servicing and reporting any fraudulent activity.
  • Contribute to a clean and safe working environment in compliance with WHS guidelines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dentists, staff, and members to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Support the Head of Dental Services and the Dentist in Charge in representing HCF's interests to regulatory bodies.
  • Provide coordinated, cost-effective care for HCF members, reinforcing the value of private health insurance.

Expanded Scope of Practice (Subject to Qualifications & Approval)

  • Take study models and dental radiographs (x-rays).
  • Perform root and periodontal planning.
  • Administer local anaesthetic (subject to qualifications).
  • Apply fissure sealants and polish restorations (as approved by Clinical Advisory Committee).

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Oral Health.
  • Current registration as a Dental Hygienist in Australia.
  • Current EPA Radiation license.
  • Ability to work autonomously and efficiently within a clinical setting.
  • Understanding of clinical risk management and personal limitations.
  • Willingness to work across multiple Dental Centres if required.
  • Prepared to take instruction from the Head of Dental Services, Dentist in Charge, and mentor as applicable.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with multicultural staff and patients.
  • Knowledge of contemporary preventive treatment philosophies (e.g., Minimal Intervention Dentistry).
  • Understanding of private health insurance products.
