Job Description

Reporting into the General Manager – HSEQ, this is very much a 'hands on position.' A role that will be responsible for leading, promoting and maintaining a robust safety culture across various national projects. You will be an experienced professional who enjoys working to best practices, delivering high quality safety methods whilst being supported by an energetic and highly experienced management team.

Tasks will include, but not limited to: -

  • Manage the day to day on site safety activities across projects, sites at a national level

  • Cultivate the strong safety culture already within the business

  • Conduct complex incident investigations and compile written reports

  • Establish and facilitate systematic approaches to risk assessments and risk management plans

  • Conduct Safety audits

  • Safety Compliance; ensure that the business remains updated and relevant with changes to legislation

  • Preparing and compiling of monthly stats for reporting purposes

  • Coordinate various Health & Safety meetings; ranging from pre-starts, toolbox to monthly safety meets

  • Identify & provide on-site/internal training to various work groups in relation to Health & Safety

  • Updating documents as part of the quality system, including SWMS and SOP's

Profile

You will be a person that has a great energy to start the day with drive and ambition; a hands-on leader who is willing to coach and mentor by example. A good lateral thinker and communicator that enjoys working to targets and achieving set goals. Your relationship management skills will be impeccable; you will have a dynamic character with the ability to self-motivate and self-mange whilst having a professional persona.

Please note that National Travel to short and medium term projects is required.

Skill Set

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a 'heavy industry' background

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • A multi-tasker with the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in and around Health, Safety, Environment and Quality

  • Cert IV in workplace training and assessment (preferred)
