About the Role

Rivendell is a specialist multidisciplinary Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service providing comprehensive assessment and integrated treatment for child and adolescent outpatients of the SLHD presenting with mental health issues and also includes a tertiary referral inpatient service. It is structured around a quality framework that is person-centred, collaborative and evidence-based and which targets improvements in psychiatric, psychosocial, cognitive, social and educational functioning and recovery for the individual living with mental health difficulties and their family.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide specialised and evidence based neuropsychological assessment, recommendations and interventions for clients referred to Child and Adolescent inpatient, outpatient and Community Mental Health teams in SLHD, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Ideal Candidate

  • Must hold a post graduate degree in clinical neuropsychology (Masters, and/or Doctorate or PhD). Endorsement or working towards endorsement as a clinical neuropsychologist with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge, skill and clinical experience in the provision of clinical neuropsychology assessments and interventions for children and adolescents presenting with a range of issues including developmental delay, neurological conditions, behavioural difficulties and psychiatric presentations. Demonstrated experience in the assessment of children who may be on the autism spectrum using ADOS and ADIR an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability/experience working in a multidisciplinary environment, including building and maintaining professional and therapeutic relationships through the application of written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
