About the role

As an Estimator at SWIP, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of projects. This is a pivotal role within our team that will see you work closely with our Management Team, Clients , Suppliers & Subcontractors to ensure every job is scoped, priced, and delivered to client requirements. This role offers a hybrid and flexible working arrangement, giving you the freedom to balance time between our Capel / Perth office & Project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of cost estimates, quotations and tender submissions for various piping, civil, and fabrication projects across the mining & civil sector

  • Accurately calculate hour estimates, mobilisation & demobilisation costs, plant & equipment, and all other costs required to estimate tenders for piping, civil, and fabrication projects

  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work

  • Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes

  • Identify risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop project budgets and timelines

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry pricing and trends

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience estimating in PE fabrication, Piping infrastructure projects & supporting civil works

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, quantity surveying or similar is preferred but not essential

  • Proven ability to deliver competitive tenders from first principles

  • Strong analytical, numerical and commercial acumen

  • Familiarity with PE welding and installation methods including dewatering infrastructure

  • Familiarity with civil pipeline / utilities construction processes and standards

  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities

  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
