About The Role
DBG Health is looking for a General Counsel to provide high-level strategic and corporate legal advice, particularly in contracts, international transactions, regulatory compliance, and commercial law. This role will support the Chief Legal Counsel in managing legal risk and ensuring good governance and compliance across the organization. The General Counsel will play a crucial role in advancing our legal and regulatory objectives.
Role & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement processes that ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks in Australian and international operations. Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance.
- Participate in due diligence activities for Australian and international business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures, ensuring legal compliance and identifying potential risks.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide strategic, commercially relevant advice and recommendations on legal issues.
- Manage and advise on legal disputes and litigation. Develop strategies to resolve disputes effectively and efficiently.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities to maintain necessary licenses and ensure ongoing compliance. Monitor and interpret new and existing laws, regulations, and industry practices affecting the organisation
Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in drafting complex contracts, delivering strategic legal advice, and conducting advanced legal research and analysis.
- Proven ability to develop deep expertise in navigating and advising within a complex regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated capability to build and maintain strong, strategic relationships across all organizational levels.
- Proficient in managing ambiguous concepts and complex scenarios, with a track record of devising innovative solutions based on sound legal and business judgment.
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on anticipating needs, foreseeing challenges, and implementing preventative measures.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and listening communication skills – capable of producing polished, professional correspondence and speaking with clarity and authority; adept at active listening to accurately interpret and analyze information.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail, consistently ensuring top-quality work and outcomes.
- Proven self-direction and resourcefulness with the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment while effectively collaborating as part of a team.
- Advanced time management skills to strategically prioritize tasks, meet critical deadlines, and optimize workflow efficiency.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Forms, etc.
