We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Cook to bring their culinary expertise to our founding team, playing a crucial role in the growth and well-being of the children we care for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Planning: Design balanced, age-appropriate, and appealing menus that adhere to nutritional standards.
- Culinary Excellence: Prepare and present high-quality meals that cater to the diverse dietary needs and preferences of children, including those with allergies and special dietary requirements.
- Kitchen Setup: Help establish a clean and organised kitchen from the ground up, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining all kitchen equipment in optimal condition.
- Record Maintenance: Set up systems for managing inventory of kitchen supplies and keeping detailed records of menu changes, dietary accommodations, and any kitchen-related incidents. Proactively communicate any issues to the management team.
- Collaborative Communication: Build strong relationships with the future childcare team to tailor dietary plans and address specific nutritional needs. Establish a routine of open and clear communication with prospective parents about meal content and any significant updates.
- Professional Growth: Stay ahead with the latest nutritional practices and childcare food regulations. Engage in professional development sessions to refine culinary skills and enhance dietary knowledge before and during the service operations.
Requirements:
- Proven Experience: Must have significant experience as a cook, preferably within a childcare setting, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in childcare cooking.
- Certifications: All candidates must hold a Food Safety Supervisor certificate or be willing to obtain one
- Nutritional Expertise: A deep understanding of nutritional standards across various child age groups and the ability to accommodate special dietary needs effectively.
- Organisational skills: Exceptional ability to manage time, plan advanced menus, and keep meticulous records.
- Communication: Robust communication skills are essential for effective interaction with children, parents, and staff.
- Passion for Childcare: A genuine enthusiasm for enhancing child development through dietary excellence.

- A valid Working With Children Check is required for all candidates.
