Financial Services partner with all areas of CommBank to specialist advice, support and services in finance, audit, treasury, property, procurement, climate strategy and investor relations.

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) is Australia's leading provider of integrated financial services. They are committed to continuously improving governance practices and ensuring that they are aligned with business, stakeholders and customers' needs. Group Audit and Assurance (GA&A) are the internal audit function for the Group. Their primary purpose is to provide independent and objective assurance of the effectiveness of the Groups risk management, controls and governance processes.

Do work that matters

The GA&A RBS team adds value to the Group by:

  • Delivering a professional and highly valued audit service to the business and Group's Audit & Risk Committees
  • Providing objective assurance on risk management to key customers (e.g. Group Executives and their leadership teams) to secure the financial wellbeing of the Bank's customers
  • Identifying issues and commercial insights as part of high-quality audit reports, which improve customers banking experience.
  • Developing and implementing global best technologies (data, analytics and AI) in its assurance delivery, increasing efficiencies

Your responsibilities will include:

  • High quality and timely delivery of several Analytics assignments across your given portfolio.
  • Consistently deliver accurate and effective data analytics in line with Methodology and quality standards.
  • Work closely and effectively with auditors and teams within GA&A and across CBA to understand the risk and control environment.
  • Profile, test and understand data extracted from core business systems to determine the existence of unidentified risks or control failures
  • Present results in a clear and concise manner to senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Solve complex analytical problems by applying innovative and resourceful thinking

  • Experience with analytics languages such as SQL, python or R.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts into simplified stakeholder key messages
  • Proven experience in using best practice across analytics, data management, risk management, and governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with auditors to solve data challenges as well as draw insights from analysis
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Demonstrated good team player
  • Audit experience skills preferable but not necessary
  • Risk Mindset – All CBA employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
