About The Role
The Senior Therapeutic Case Manager - Foster Care provides culturally informed support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children residing in Therapeutic Foster Care homes with VACCA Carers. The Senior Therapeutic Case Manager will undertake all aspects of therapeutic case management to complex caseloads and ensure compliance requirements of the OOHC programs are met.

Along with direct case work for young people supported by the program, the Senior Therapeutic Case Manager will work alongside VACCA's Healing Team to provide Therapeutic and Culturally informed support to VACCA's Therapeutic Foster Carers. This position will also provide mentorship and assist with training of other team members to support in day-to-day case management tasks as well as support with preparation for audits and the OOHC leadership team.

About You

  • Commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA' vision and purpose
  • Aawareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with Aboriginal children, families, carers and other service providers to achieve outcomes
  • Strong ability to advocate on behalf of Aboriginal children and families
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in therapeutic case management
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and/or mentoring workers in complex casework and assessments relating to Aboriginal children, families and carers across the out of home care system.
  • Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
