This vacancy is maternity leave relief for an initial period tor 52 weeks from February 2026 to February 2027 for up to 40hrs per week; the hours and period of employment may change according to the maternity leave requirements. There is also the possibility of an extension at same / reduced hours.

What You'll Be Doing
Provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist Renal services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care .

Provide clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice

Where you'll be working
Lismore Base Hospital
is a regional referral, Level 5 base hospital providing a wide range of health services to residents in Northern NSW. These services include a state-of-the-art Operating Theatre Suite, Intensive Care/Cardiac Care Unit, General Medical and Surgical Wards, Womens Care Unit, Paediatric Unit, Renal Unit, Emergency Department, Medical Imaging department and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. Mental Health Inpatient Units, the North Coast Cancer Institute, Pathology, Pain Management Clinic, and Specialist Outpatient Clinics are also located on the Lismore Base Hospital campus.

Lismore and other NNSWLHD Hospitals and facilities are located in an area also known as the Rainbow Region, this area is blessed with stunning waterfalls, fertile farming land, artistic villages and relaxed seaside communities.   • Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Nephrologist and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Nephrology, at the role delineation of the service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
  • Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
  • Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
