Seeking applications for an Operating Theatre Technician to join the Perioperative Services team at the Daylesford campus.

You will be working with a new team in a brand new, purpose-built operating theatre delivering high-level care, incorporating infection prevention and control principles. Major responsibilities of the candidate include;

  • Safely assist with patient handling and transport, including positioning and repositioning patients during surgical procedures
  • Preparing and maintaining an operating room and its equipment (Organising specific equipment for operation lists/cases)
  • Supporting the surgical team during operations
  • Ensuring patient safety, dignity and comfort
  • Support clinicians and nursing staff in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • Restock and organise theatre supplies and materials
  • Understand operating theatre protocols and medical terminology
  • Understand and apply infection control, WH&S and patient safety standards
  • Work in a team and communicate in a clinical setting

Candidates will need to be available to accommodate scheduled theatre sessions.

Qualifications/experience required:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Health Services Assistance / Operating Theatre Technical Support is essential
  • Proven experience as an Operating Theatre Technician
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively and according to directions
  • Qualifications in CSSD (Central Sterile Services Department) will be highly regarded.

Details of Appointment:

Casual  - with the ability to be added to the Kyneton Theatre Casual bank

Salary:

Dependent on experience, as per award + superannuation

It was formed through the voluntary amalgamation of Hepburn Health Service and Kyneton District Health on the 30th November 2019.
