About The Role
The Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers to deliver key infrastructure projects supporting K92's expansion. This role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing engineering and construction activities to ensure alignment with objectives, timelines, and budgets. It will also focus on driving continual improvements across mining operations and implementing initiatives to enhance efficiency throughout the mining cycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project delivery by developing and maintaining schedules, preparing scopes and execution plans, tracking progress, and identifying risks or deviations to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Coordinate project activities, including preparing and evaluating tenders, supporting cost control and forecasting, and maintaining accurate project documentation such as reports, change registers, and meeting minutes.
• Facilitate effective communication between internal stakeholders, contractors, and consultants to maintain alignment with project objectives and timelines.
• Provide technical and engineering support through design reviews, constructability assessments, commissioning planning, and technical input into construction planning.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, participating in risk assessments and safety reviews to maintain high operational standards.
• Engage with site-based teams, consultants, and vendors, and assist the Project Manager in stakeholder reporting and presentations to support transparent and effective project communication.

Qualification, Skills & Experience
This position will suit an
Engineer
with experience in project roles within mining, infrastructure, or heavy industry:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
• Postgraduate qualifications in project management (desirable).
• Certificates in competency in project scheduling and document control (desirable)
• Experience in construction and mining-related projects.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2).
• Proficiency in scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Proficiency in document control tools (e.g., Asite, Sharepoint)
• Experience with tendering, procurement, and contractor management.
