Medical Receptionist

About the Role

Shire Doctors and Dentists is seeking an experienced, friendly, and proactive Receptionist / Customer Service Assistant to join our medical centre in Caringbah, NSW. This casual/part-time, on-site role is ideal for an individual passionate about customer service and patient care who excels in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Greeting patients with a professional and welcoming manner
• Managing patient appointments and coordinating schedules for our medical and dental teams
• Handling patient inquiries, phone calls, and emails in a prompt and courteous manner
• Processing patient billing, payments, and ensuring accurate financial transactions
• Supporting administrative tasks such as data entry, records management, and filing
• Keeping the waiting area and reception clean and organized
• Liaising with healthcare professionals, patients, and external contacts as needed

What We Are Looking For

• Excellent customer service skills with a patient-focused approach
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively
• High-level communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional presentation and a positive attitude
• Discretion and respect for patient confidentiality
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting or medical reception is desirable; however, candidates with strong customer service backgrounds and a passion for patient care are encouraged to apply and will benefit from our supportive team to enhance their skill sets

Desired but not essential

• Experience in a similar role, ideally within the healthcare industry
• Understanding of healthcare regulations, policies and procedures
• Proficient in using Best Practice management software, Microsoft Office and other relevant IT systems
