Mamre Anglican School is seeking an exceptional Christian educator to join their Senior Executive Leadership Team as Head of Senior School, a pivotal leadership role shaping the academic, pastoral and co-curricular direction of Years 7–12.
Mamre Anglican is a growing P–12 co-educational school with 700 students and 90 staff. As they prepare for an exciting relocation in 2029 to the Sydney Science Park, adjacent to the new Nancy Bird-Walton Airport and Luddenham Metro, the School is poised for dynamic transformation. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead during a time of innovation and strategic growth.
Purpose of the Role
The Head of Senior School is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and provides strategic and day-to-day leadership of the Senior School (Years 7–12), and broader whole-school operations. This role ensures the smooth functioning of school routines, student and staff wellbeing, compliance, data and campus logistics, while supporting the Principal in delivering the School's vision as a Christ-centred learning community.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic and Operational Leadership
- Provide leadership for the Senior School, ensuring high standards of student learning, wellbeing and discipline.
- Oversee daily school operations including timetabling, calendar management, events coordination, and supervision systems.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, NESA regulations, and WHS requirements in all operational matters.
- Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of the School's growth and relocation to the Sydney Science Park close to the new Western Sydney International Airport.
Student Learning and Wellbeing
- Ensure systems are in place to promote student safety, engagement and holistic development.
- In collaboration with the Director of Wellbeing 7-12 and Head of Diverse Learning 7-12, oversee pastoral structures, ensuring proactive student support.
- Foster student leadership, voice, and cocurricular participation.
- Monitor student progress and the use of data to make informed decisions about academic and wellbeing needs of students.
- Partner with families to strengthen student outcomes.
Staff Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor and support the Senior School Leadership team to build a culture of high expectations, wellbeing, and student engagement.
- Foster collaboration and professional growth among staff, modelling servant leadership and Christ-centred values.
- Manage and allocate staff responsibilities in relation to supervision, duty rosters, excursions, and co-curricular commitments.
Operations and Administration
- Manage daily operations across the Senior School, including facilities, resources and emergency procedures.
- Coordinate the Senior School calendar, including assemblies, chapels, and meetings.
- Lead the planning and delivery of key Senior school events, such as Year 12 Graduation and major community occasions.
Community Faith and Engagement
- Model and promote Christian faith, service, and values in all aspects of leadership.
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community, fostering trust and engagement.
- Actively contribute to the mission and culture of Mamre Anglican School through participation in worship, pastoral care and outreach programs.
- Mamre Anglican is a member school of the Anglican Schools Corporation
Reporting to: Principal and Deputy Principal
Working closely with the Deputy Principal, the Direct Reports are:
- Director of Wellbeing 7-12
- Director of Studies
- Heads of Faculty
- Year Coordinators
- Administrative Staff
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a secondary school
- Teaching qualifications and current NESA accreditation
- Proven success in curriculum leadership and teaching improvement
- Strong understanding of the HSC and senior assessment frameworks
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- A committed, active Christian faith and alignment with the Anglican ethos
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualifications in educational leadership
- Experience in K–12 or independent school environments
- Familiarity with school improvement frameworks and change leadership
