The Role
As a Control Systems Engineer at Foodmach, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and commissioning control systems that drive automation and efficiency in packaging and manufacturing lines. You'll be working on high-profile projects for major FMCG clients, ensuring that systems are fully integrated, operational and optimised.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for automated manufacturing and packaging lines.
- Lead and manage end-to-end control system projects from concept to commissioning.
- Develop functional specifications, technical documentation, and project reports.
- Troubleshoot and provide technical support for control system issues.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to deliver turnkey solutions.
- Drive continuous improvements in system design, programming, and project execution.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
About You
We're looking for an experienced engineer with a track record of success in control systems for industrial automation. You're a problem-solver, a team player and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming (e.g., Ignition, FactoryTalk, Citect)
- Experience with industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
- Knowledge of ERP/MES systems.
- Strong understanding of machine safety standards and electrical design.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to client sites for commissioning and support.
- Valid Driver's Licence
- Work authorisation for Australia
