The IMEA Group of Companies including Prime Water Australia, Infinity Fire Protection and Prime Pumps, has a career opportunity available for a motivated and results driven Graduate to join our fantastic team.

Our role would suit a recent Engineering graduate or a student nearing the end of their degree.

We are looking for candidates with a Civil/Mechanical engineering degree.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, design, and delivery of water infrastructure maintenance and upgrades, including pump systems / stations, related pipes and valves, drainage systems, and water treatment facilities
  • Contribute to the preparation of engineering drawings and technical documentation using CAD or other design software
  • Support the development of detailed designs, specifications, and construction documentation aligned with client requirements and regulatory standards
  • Participate in site inspections, surveys, and condition assessments to support design and construction activities
  • Assist in preparing reports, tender documents, cost estimates, and project schedules
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, as well as project managers, contractor and
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (e.g Australian Standards) and meet safety, environmental, and operational requirements
  • Support construction phase services, including reviewing sub-contractor submissions, responding to RFIs, and attending site meetings
  • Contribute to risk assessments and quality assurance processes for infrastructure design and delivery
  • Research and suggest innovative solutions to improve water infrastructure design, sustainability, and long-term performance

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited Engineering undergraduate program
  • Strong interest in water, wastewater, or stormwater pumping systems and control
  • Basic knowledge of water hydraulic technology
  • Familiarity with CAD and/or design software (e.g., AutoCAD 2/3D)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Hands-on aptitude or site experience in infrastructure or civil construction environments
  • Previous industry experience (e.g., internship or graduate work in water transfer and storage projects) is highly regarded
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and high-quality engineering outcomes
  • A current Australian driver's licence is required.

Ideally this is a full time position, however, the hours could be negotiated to accommodate current study requirements or internship for the right candidate.  Applicants with relevant work experience will be viewed favourably.
