About the Role

Downer is seeking skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Technicians, or Fitters to join our team across Pinkenba, Swanbank, and Brisbane, QLD. This hybrid role offers a mix of workshop and field-based responsibilities, maintaining and repairing heavy plant machinery and trucks across multiple sites. No two days are the same-ideal for those who thrive in a fast-paced, safety-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform servicing, repairs, and maintenance on heavy plant machinery and trucks
  • Provide breakdown support and fault diagnostics in the field
  • Ensure all work meets Downer's safety and operational standards
  • Collaborate with a skilled team while also working independently

What You'll Bring

  • Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Plant Mechanics, or Fitting (essential)
  • Strong hydraulic knowledge and fault-finding skills
  • Experience with mobile plant, trucks, and heavy equipment
  • Auto electrical experience (highly regarded)
  • HR and Forklift licences (desirable)
  • A proactive attitude and commitment to safety
