Greencross Vets Aitkenvale is situated approximately ten minutes from the Townsville CBD, and is easily accessible from all areas of Townsville. Working here you will join our team of experienced veterinarians and long-standing support staff.
Aitkenvale has the finest hospital facilities, which include Digital Radiography, Endoscope, Ultrasonography and in-house pathology.
Our Mission is to provide outstanding care for our patients and clients, whether that is for a simple nail clip, best behaviour classes or complicated medical cases.
What can you expect during the Greencross Graduate Program?
- 18-month Graduate Development Program: Permanent position with structured Graduate Development Program for the first 18-months. The program offers you the opportunity to build on your day one competencies to continue learning and developing through structured modules, practical workshops, and clinical placements.
- Diverse opportunities: Choose clinical placements that align with your interests with options including Specialty & Emergency hospitals, the RSPCA, and international & charitable placements through the Petbarn Foundation.
- Join a group of peers: enjoy the camaraderie and support that comes from being part of the Greencross Graduate Development Program cohort, our graduates are encouraged to network allowing you to exchange ideas and experiences with your peers. This is a great way to feel less alone and isolated as you take the leap into clinical practice.
- Clinical symposium: You will be invited to attend our Greencross Clinical Conference. Held every October, this is Australia's largest annual veterinary clinical symposium.
- Mentoring: you will have a dedicated mentor to ensure you are comfortable, with full support from your experienced in-clinic team, plus your Regional Clinical Director who will be by your side throughout your entire career with us - which we hope will be for many years
- Career development: Upon completion of the program explore pathways into leadership, business ownership, memberships and specialty opportunities, as you'll have the foundations - Greencross Vets Graduate Program sets you up for success

The Greencross Veterinary Graduate Program equips you with everything you need to thrive in your first 18 months. Designed to support your transition into clinical practice, our structured program includes an engaging online modular curriculum, hands-on workshops to strengthen both your clinical and non-clinical skills, and regular check-ins with the graduate coordinator to ensure you're supported every step of the way.
With tailored mentorship, comprehensive case exposure, and a supportive clinic environment, you'll gain confidence, refine your expertise, and grow alongside a team committed to your success.

Job Description
As a new vet with Greencross, you'll be introduced to consulting, surgical and medical case management, at a pace you comfortable with. We respect that each person gains confidence at a different pace and we are committed to your entry into clinical practice being nurturing, collaborative, informative and fun

- Veterinary degree recognised by the Australasian Veterinary Board Council.
