Environmental Chemistry Intern (Laboratory-Based) – Vocational Placement

Location: Sydney (On-site)

Duration: 3-Month Internship (252–420 hours)

Start Date: December 2025

Premium Graduate Placements (PGP) collaborates with environmental testing and analytical laboratories across Australia to offer structured Environmental Chemistry Internship placements. This opportunity allows students and graduates to gain real-world laboratory experience while contributing to environmental monitoring and sustainability projects.

About the Role

As an Environmental Chemistry Intern, you will assist in sample preparation, chemical testing, and data analysis to support environmental research and compliance projects. You'll work under the guidance of professional chemists and environmental scientists in a lab setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting and preparing environmental samples (water, soil, air)
  • Conduct chemical and physical analyses using laboratory equipment (e.g., spectrometers, chromatographs)
  • Support data entry, quality control, and lab reporting tasks
  • Maintain laboratory safety and cleanliness in compliance with WHS standards
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists on monitoring and testing programs

Requirements

  • Currently studying or recently graduated in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and chemical safety procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Available for at least 3 days per week during the internship
