Roller Derby Heaven (RDH) has been supporting Australia's skate scene for over 30 years — from roller derby and recreational skating to inline, skateboards, and now scooters. We're a family-owned, grassroots business based in Morisset, NSW, and we're passionate about giving skaters of all kinds access to the best gear, advice, and service.

We're looking for a Junior Shop Assistant to help support our Store Manager and assist with day-to-day operations. You'll play an important role in serving customers, answering enquiries, keeping the store stocked and tidy, and helping with fittings and sales.

This is a great opportunity for someone personable, reliable, and keen to learn. We're especially interested in applicants with an interest or background in roller skating, skateboards or scooters.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role in a supportive and fun retail environment. You'll gain experience across retail sales, product knowledge, online support, and general store upkeep.

Must be available to work Saturdays (10am – 3pm) and 2–3 weekdays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist customers in-store with a friendly, helpful attitude
  • Answer phone calls and respond to online enquiries (email/website)
  • Serve customers and handle transactions via POS system
  • Assist with skate, scooter and skateboard fittings
  • Keep the store tidy and shelves well-stocked
  • Help set up displays, promotions and maintain store presentation
  • Work closely with the Store Manager and owners to support store operations

What We're Looking For

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Friendly, personable and confidence talking to customers of all ages
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to take initiative
  • Willingness to learn about our products and how to fit skates/scooters
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use online systems
  • Previous retail or hospitality experience is a bonus, but not essential
  • An interest or experience in skating, skateboards, or scooters is a big plus

  • Saturdays (10am–3pm) – essential
  • 2–3 weekdays (flexible, to be discussed at interview)
  • Pay: In line with Retail Award rates,
  • Dependent on age and experience
