Stirling, Australia Purrf Cat Grooming Full time $30,000 - $60,000 per year

About Us

Purrf Cat Grooming is a feline-exclusive grooming salon, with a focus on welfare, and a deep understanding of cat behaviour. A growing small business, we aim provide a calm, safe, and positive grooming experience for our clients.

Waxing lyrically

Ok I want to break the 'fourth wall' for a moment and just write normally. If I had to distil what this work comes down to, it's a blend of technical skills, reacting, being guided by intuition, all while maintaining calm and focus. It's learning when and how to make an ask of a cat, how much to ask, and how to restore a feeling of calm in the cat. As far as I can tell, there is no other role that requires you to spend so much time handling a cat, and over the course of a session, and a lifetime of grooming, the work you do will continue to evolve. My training style is structured, but also philosophical. I want to teach someone who is passionate about the work and likes to learn. I often find parallels between this role and other caregiving roles like nursing, teaching and coaching, among many others. I'm not a Buddhist, but there is something very Zen here too.

I just thought I'd add that paragraph to give you some idea of how I perceive this role… ok now back to the normal 'job ad' writing style
